The revised and updated Coaching Skills Inventory (Ed. 3)* can be used in a number of ways; as a stand-alone assessment tool, as part of the Coaching for Commitment Workshop, or as a part of another coaching or leadership course. The CSI is flexible in that it illuminates self-perception through the use of the CSI Self and allows for comparison to stakeholders opinions using the optional 360-degree feedback component the CSI Observer.

CSI: Self-Assessment: The CSI Self assessment has been revised and updated to identify (1) a coaching gap compared to an ideal, (2) the role(s) you gravitate toward (mentor, manager, instructor and coach), and (3) proficiency levels in using the C4C CLEAR coaching skills during interactions with others.  IOD recommends taking the assessment before reading the book.  It provides a great starting point for reading!

CSI: Observer Assessment:  Use the CSI Observer assessment to get a holistic view of the behaviors and actions you exhibit when interacting with others!  The CSI Observer can be used to obtain 360-degree feedback:  For the full 360-degree view, obtain completed CSI Observer assessments from your boss, at least three direct reports (if applicable), and at least three others.  Depending on the nature of your work and/or your purpose in using this inventory, “others” may include peers, partners, vendors, customers, or students.  The CSI Observer makes a great follow-up assessment to check your progress 6-12 months after the Coaching for Commitment Two-Day Workshop!
